Costa Rica will inaugurate its new stadium, donated by China at a cost of $85 million, with a friendly against Argentina on March 29.

Wagner Cornejo, a spokesman for the company organizing the event, said on Wednesday that China could also play a friendly match against Costa Rica at the new stadium. He did not offer a date.

A concert with Colombia-born Shakira is planned for April 3.

China donated the stadium to the tiny Central American country after diplomatic relations were established between the two in 2007. The stadium will seat 35,000 for football and 50,000 for the Shakira concert.
