Corinthians slumped to their first defeat of the Campeonato season after losing 1-0 at home to Cruzeiro.
Wallyson scored the only goal 10 minutes into the second half and the visitors held on even after Gil was sent off 18 minutes from time. Despite the loss, Corinthians are still six points clear of Sao Paulo with 11 games gone.
Diego Souza scored twice - including a last-minute winner - as Vasco da Gama moved up to fourth with a 2-1 victory at Atletico Mineiro.

Bahia and Coritiba drew 0-0 - both sides having a man dismissed, Coritiba's Leandro Donizete after 67 minutes and Bahia's Jobson 20 minutes later, while Marquinho grabbed the only goal after 74 minutes as Fluminense beat Palmeiras 1-0.
