Jorge Luque converted a penalty in the last minute of extra time as second-division Cordoba dramatically knocked Racing Santander out of the Copa del Rey on the away goals rule Tuesday.

Santander won the second leg match 3-1 but Luque's 120th-minute penalty after a contentious hand ball decision put Cordoba into the fifth round, having previously won the first leg 2-0.

Santander appeared set to go through after controlling the match. Ivan Bolado broke through a crowded area to poke past Alberto Garcia for a 25th-minute opener.

Kennedy Bakircioglu made it all square over two legs in the 72nd minute after Garcia failed to get to his floating free kick and Eduardo Bedia scored from another free kick in the 102nd.

But referee Delgado Ferreiro drew the ire of the El Sardinero crowd for awarding the last-minute penalty after judging that Christian Fernandez had blocked a shot inside the area with his arm, though it appeared tucked into his body.

Also, Espanyol advanced 3-1 on aggregate over second-division Valladolid after a 1-1 draw at its Cornella-El Prat stadium.

Valladolid's already slim chances were dealt a further blow when Jofre Gonzalez was red carded for lashing his arm out at Javi Lopez as he tried to protect the ball in the 51st. Valladolid coach Antonio Gomez soon followed for protesting the decision.

Pablo Osvaldo took advantage to score from an individual effort in the 69th.

Victor Ruiz handled inside the area for a 77th-minute penalty that Antonio Barragan scored to give Valladolid a consolation goal.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho faces his first must-win game of the season Wednesday when the Spanish giant plays third-tier Murcia at its Santiago Bernabeu stadium after a scoreless first-leg draw. Record 25-time champion Barcelona holds a 2-0 lead over Ceuta ahead of their game on the same night.

Defending champion Sevilla has a 4-0 advantage over Real Union before their date Wednesday, when 10 of the 16 matches are played. The other four close the round on Thursday.
