Confident Gomez keen to kick on
The Spaniard scored the winning penalty at West Brom at the weekend to take his tally for the season to three, more than his combined total for the previous two campaigns. Gomez has not had the best of times at the DW Stadium as, not long after his £1.7million move from Swansea, fans started to target him as the team struggled. Last season he lost his regular place in the side but has responded well this campaign, starting nine times in the Premier League. "I'm delighted to be back in the team," he told the club's website. "I'm enjoying my football and know that I have to keep working if it's to remain that way. "I try to score in every game I play; I've got confidence that I can do whenever I go on the pitch and whenever the chance comes I'm ready to take it."
