Colon Santa Fe moved up to third in the table with a 1-0 win over Independiente on Friday.

Federico Higuain scored the only goal of the game for the away side on 16 minutes, meaning they now trail Boca Juniors and Lanus on goal difference.

Elsewhere, 10-man Godoy Cruz battled to an eventful 2-2 draw at Olimpo to climb to seventh in the standings.

Zelmar Garcia was sent off after 37 minutes, but the away side still took the lead through Nicolas Sanchez just before half-time.

Julio Cesar Furch equalised on the hour and Olimpo took the lead just five minutes later thanks to an own goal from Lucas Ceballos, but Leandro Caruso rescued a point with 15 minutes remaining.

In the evening's other game, Belgrano Cordoba ran out 1-0 winners at San Martin San Juan, Claudio Perez snatching the winner eight minutes from time.
