The Argentina international was forced out of the club's 2-1 defeat at Manchester City, but could now return to action to face Wigan. Sol Campbell proved a capable deputy alongside Mike Williamson and Hughton insists no-one's place at the back is guaranteed. "Fabricio will train [on Monday] and will be back in contention for Wigan providing there are no further problems," he told the Evening Chronicle. "That is a big positive for us. But, of course, there is a decision for me to make there. Sol came in and did well and Mike (Williamson) has been excellent too. "Sol is just a good player, so it doesn't surprise me he's come in and looked good. Part of the reason why we brought him in was because of that quality and experience that he showed last weekend. "We were very aware of that when we brought him in. He's a proven player and we knew that he would offer us that competition." Striker Leon Best is also expected to return to training this week, although Hughton doubts whether he will be able to face Latics. "Leon has a little problem with his foot at the moment," he said. "He missed training last week and I think it will be another few days before he's in a position to return."
