Denmark coach Morten Olsen says striker Nicklas Bendtner ''needs to get his life back on track'' before he can be considered for the national team after a drunk driving incident.

Olsen says it was ''plain stupid'' of the Juventus striker to drive with a blood-alcohol content of 1.75, 3.5 times higher than the legal limit.

Last week, Bendtner was fined 842,000 kroner ($147,000) and his driver's license was suspended for three years following the incident on March 3.

The Danish football federation immediately suspended him from national team duty for six months. He will miss key World Cup qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria this month and against Armenia in June.
