Burnley's appeal against Kieran Trippier's sending off against Charlton last Saturday has been turned down by the Football Association.
The Clarets defender was dismissed after being deemed to have handled a goalbound shot on the goalline.
Despite the club's argument that the handball was not deliberate, the Football Association has rejected the appeal.
Therefore referee Robert Madley's original decision has been upheld, meaning Trippier will miss Saturday's trip to Hull as he serves a one-match ban.
