Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is confident he will recover from a knee injury in time for the World Cup.

Bravo has been ruled out for the remainder of Real Sociedad's season after suffering ligament damage in his right knee during the second division leader's 2-0 defeat against Cordoba on Saturday.

The Chile captain says "it could have been worse. Still, it's not a minor injury and it needs attention and a lot of recovery time."

Bravo, 26, says it's better not "to obsess" over the injury after he avoided surgery. He will need at least six weeks to recover.

Chile is in Group H, alongside European champion Spain, Honduras and Switzerland. It opens against Honduras at Nelspruit on June 16.
