Coach Claudio Borghi called up a squad of 28 players on Friday as Chile prepares for the Copa America, which starts July 1 in Argentina.

Eighteen of the 28 players play for foreign clubs, and many of them formed the base of last year's World Cup team coached by Marcelo Bielsa. That team reached the second round, the best performance by a Chilean team since 1962.

Chile plays in Group C in the Copa America with Uruguay, Mexico and Peru. Chile will play friendly matches on June 19 in Santiago against Estonia and June 24 in Asuncion against Paraguay.
