English champion Chelsea has signed Tomas Kalas, the 17-year-old defender from the Czech Republic.
Chelsea and the player's agency, Sport Invest Group, said Kalas will stay with his Czech club, Olomouc, on loan next season before moving to Stamford Bridge.
Other clubs interested in the player included Arsenal, AC Milan and German Bundesliga teams Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim.
Details of the contract have not been released. Czech media reported Olomouc could get 160 million koruna ($7.8 million).
