Chechen-owned Neuchatel Xamax has fired coach Joaquin Caparros and his staff, continuing the Swiss club's chaotic season.
Caparros, the former Athletic Bilbao coach, survived five weeks before clashing with Neuchatel owner Bulat Chagaev.
Caparros had objected to Chagaev storming into the dressing room after the team drew 2-2 with last-placed Lausanne last weekend.
Swiss media reported players, under condition of anonymity, threatening to boycott Neuchatel's next match on Sept. 11 if Caparros was fired.
Chagaev appointed Caparros in July after firing sporting director Sonny Anderson, the former Brazil forward, and all coaches after losing the opening two matches.
Neuchatel is ninth in the 10-team Swiss league.
