Sochaux defender Jacques Faty has been fined 1,000 euros and had his licence suspended for four months for speeding in October.

L'Est Republicain reported that American forward Charlie Davies, who was with his former teammate when the car they were in was clocked at 125 mph, was cleared in the incident.

Both men acknowledged Faty was driving. When they were arrested, Davies was behind the wheel after they swapped places in the car because Faty thought his license was still suspended from a previous speeding violation.

Davies, who has joined D.C. United on loan in February, suffered life-threatening injuries in another car accident in which another passenger died in 2009.
