Norwich City defender Russell Martin has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

The Scotland international, who joined on a permanent deal in January 2010 having impressed on loan from Peterborough, has made 146 appearances for the Canaries and is now committed to the club until 2016.

"I'm extremely delighted - everyone knows how I feel about playing for this football club," he told the club's official website.

"Since I first arrived here it's gone unbelievably well and I feel really settled in the area.

"I'm happy playing for this Club and I've got a great relationship with the players, staff and the supporters, and I'm just delighted to be here for another three years."

City manager Chris Hughton added: "It's about players earning a new deal and I'm delighted to be extending Russell Martin's contract.

"Russ has played his full part not just in helping us to achieve our finishing position last season, but of course in the club's massive successes over the previous three seasons and he's certainly earned his new contract."

Newly-promoted Partick Thistle will take on Dundee United in a match moved forward to August 2 with a 7.45pm start for television coverage.

SPL champions Celtic's flag-raising opener at home against Ross County has been moved back to 5.15pm the following day instead of the originally scheduled 3pm kick-off.

Hibernian's home game against Motherwell on the Sunday of the opening weekend has been brought forward to 1.15pm.

The first Edinburgh derby of the season between Hearts and Hibs at Tynecastle takes place the following weekend, but moving from Saturday to Sunday with a 12.05pm kick-off.

The previous day, August 10, Rangers begin their Second Division campaign at Ibrox against Brechin City, the game also moved for television purposes, from 3.00pm to 12.45 pm.

The merger of the Scottish Premier League and the Scottish Football League into the SPFL was completed in June.
