Celtic defender John Kennedy has retired from football at the age of 26 because of his failure to recover from a knee injury.
Kennedy was Celtic's joint longest serving player but made just 45 appearances in his 10 years at the club.
He damaged knee ligaments in his only appearance for Scotland in March 2004 and did not play for three years. He returned to the team in April 2007 but hurt the same knee in a Champions League match seven months later.
Kennedy played 16 times on loan at English club Norwich last season but has now quit on medical advice.
Celtic manager Tony Mowbray says Kennedy "had all the qualities required to become such a wonderful player."
