Reports had suggested that Cech's future at Stamford Bridge could be in doubt, but Andre Villas-Boas revealed earlier this month that informal talks had already begun over a new deal. Cech now expects more formal discussions after the hectic festive period. "There are a lot of matches at this time of year so we are agreed that both sides will prepare for the negotiations and we will meet to resolve it when there is time for that," Cech told isport.blesk.cz. "The last few weeks have been hectic and over Christmas it will be even worse in that aspect. We will meet after New Year's Day. "I have been here for eight years and I have been more or less a regular starter, so I'm more than happy. "Ever since I was a kid I wanted to be at a club that is among the best in the world. "Chelsea are in the world's top competition, so I have no reason to leave. I would like to see myself staying." Asked if he thought an agreement would be reached over an extension, Cech added: "Yes, I think so and we will not have a problem." It is thought that Chelsea will try to secure Cech's services until 2017 but, while he is happy at the club, the 29-year-old admits it would be wrong to rule out the possibility of one day going elsewhere. He said: "You never know, everything happens fast in the football life. You can sign a ten-year contract and then leave after three years. "I'm 29 and believe there is still time for a possible change. "It is difficult to leave the best league in the world and if you take a look around you will not see many teams of Chelsea's category that would be looking to sign a new goalkeeper. "If I would like to try something new it would have to be a club of a similar level like Chelsea."
