The 22-year-old is undergoing tests after damaging his shoulder in a collision in training on Wednesday. Black Cats manager Steve Bruce told the club's official website: "It was an innocuous challenge. We are waiting on reports, but it seems he could have dislocated his shoulder. "We will know more in 24 hours or so when we can let the supporters know exactly what's going on."
