An injunction order against the Asian Football Confederation filed by its suspended president has been rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Mohammed Bin Hammam was banned for life by FIFA in July from all soccer activities for his role in allegedly offering bribes to Caribbean FIFA members in exchange for votes in the governing body's presidential election.

The Qatari official had been seeking an injunction against the newly appointed Chinese official Zhang Jilong as AFC interim president and FIFA executive committee member while the ban is under appeal.

The AFC said it was strictly following its statutes by appointing Zhang as interim president. Zhang is scheduled to take Bin Hammam's place on FIFA's executive committee late next month.
