Carson enjoying Turkish delight
Carson made a shock summer switch from West Brom to leading Turkish side Bursaspor in a £2million move. The 26-year-old was regarded as one of the country's top goalkeeping prospects before his stock fell after being castigated for his part in England's failure to reach Euro 2008. He allowed a speculative shot from Croatia's Niko Kranjcar to skid past him in one of the national side's most notorious goalkeeping errors. Carson said: "Maybe it's a reason why I've had to come out of the country to play at a top level, I don't know. "That one game attracted a lot of blame. "Perhaps people still think about that game - I don't bat an eyelid about it." Carson, who started his career at Leeds before moving to Liverpool, has fought his way back into the England fold following a string of impressive displays for Bursaspor. And he is happy to wait patiently behind Joe Hart in Fabio Capello's pecking order. "I'm glad to be getting back in the set-up," he told the Daily Mail. "I can't be sitting here telling you that I deserve to be England number one, because I don't. "I've got total respect for Joe, he's the best keeper we have right now, he's a top man and he's playing consistently well."
