Capoue looks set to join Tottenham
The president of Ligue 1 club Toulouse believes in-demand midfielder Etienne Capoue is poised to join Tottenham.
The 24-year-old France international has already been linked with Barclays Premier League club Cardiff and Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid but, in an interview with French radio station RMC, Olivier Sadran appeared to suggest Spurs have stolen a march on their rivals.
When asked about Capoue's departure to White Hart Lane, Sadran is quoted in L'Equipe as telling RMC: "He will go there."
Capoue, who plays as a defensive midfielder but can slot in at center-back, scored seven goals in 34 league appearances for Toulouse last season.
Reports in France suggest Spurs will have to pay 11million euros plus two million in add-ons to land the Frenchman, who could sign a four-year contract after passing a medical in north London.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas has already signed Brazilian playmaker Paulinho, Belgian winger Nacer Chadli and Spain striker Roberto Soldado while Spurs look to fend off Real Madrid's advances for Wales midfielder Gareth Bale.
