Cagliari's Massimo Ficcadenti has become the seventh Serie A coach fired since the preseason and the second in two days.
Cagliari (3-3-4), which made the announcement on its website late Tuesday, is 10th among the 20 teams following Sunday's 1-0 loss at Atalanta.
Cagliari president Massimo Cellino fired coach Roberto Donadoni in August and replaced him with Ficcadenti before the season began.
No replacement was immediately announced. Gazzetta dello Sport reported Davide Ballardini will be rehired. He coached Cagliari in the second half of the 2007-08 season, helping the club avoid relegation.
