Cagliari looks set to play its remaining home football matches nearly 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) away in Trieste because of a dispute with its city council over renovating its stadium.
Saturday's scheduled Serie A home game against Inter Milan has already been moved to Stadio Nereo Rocco in Trieste, in the northeast of Italy.
Cagliari's Stadio Sant'Elia has been made unavailable by the city council on the Sardinian island.
Trieste's councilor in charge of sports says, ''the most credible hypothesis is that Cagliari plays all its games at Trieste until the end of the season.''
