Moumouni Dagano scored Saturday to lead Burkina Faso to a 1-0 win over Malawi in a World Cup qualifier.
Neither will participate in next year's World Cup as Burkina Faso finished second in Group E with 12 points, four behind the Ivory Coast, and Malawi took third with four points.
Both, however, qualified for the African Cup of Nations in January in Angola.
