Bundesliga Roundup, Feb. 28

BY foxsports • February 28, 2010

A goal from Franck Ribery against Hamburg was enough to take Bayern Munich to the top of the Bundesliga for the first time since May 2008.

The Frenchman struck in the 78th minute of an evenly-contested game to take the Bavarians above Bayer Leverkusen, who could only manage a 0-0 draw against Cologne on Saturday.

Hamburg struck the woodwork as they went close to an equaliser but Bayern held on for all three points to move two points clear at the top.

It was the same score at Hannover, where the hosts slumped to a ninth straight Bundesliga defeat at home to Wolfsburg.

Zvjezdan Misimovic struck the winner 12 minutes from time to leave the hosts three points from safety.

Hannover have not won a point since December 5 but wasted a succession of chances to bring that run to an end on Sunday.
