Bundesliga: Bremen still winless after Frankfurt's late win

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) Sebastien Haller struck late for Eintracht Frankfurt to beat struggling Werder Bremen 2-1 on Friday and deny the visiting side a point in its first Bundesliga game since firing its coach.

Former under-23 coach Florian Kohfeldt took over from the sacked Alexander Nouri in an attempt to steer Bremen to its first win at the 11th attempt, but his side was hanging on for what would have been just its sixth point, until Haller scored in the 89th minute.

Ante Rebic fired the home side ahead in the first half with a brilliant curling finish inside the far corner. Bremen defender Niklas Moisander equalized against the run of play in a goalmouth scramble eight minutes later.

Frankfurt's second-half pressure eventually paid off when Taleb Tawatha produced a curling cross for Haller to volley in his late winner.

Frankfurt climbed to fifth ahead of the rest of the 11th round, while Bremen remained second from bottom.
