Bulgaria names squad to face Ukraine, Wales
Bulgaria coach Mihail Madanski has left out Bolton forward Martin Petrov from an overhauled team for the last European Championship qualifier against Wales.
Back in the squad are Sporting Lisbon striker Valeri Bojinov and PSV Eindhoven defender Stanislav Manolev.
Lothar Matthaeus, who was recently fired as Bulgaria coach, has been repeatedly dropping Bojinov from the squad, saying he was not happy with the striker's performance.
Madanski announced his 23-man squad Thursday for the Oct. 7 friendly game at Ukraine, and the qualifier against Wales on Oct. 11 in Sofia.
Bulgaria is fourth in Group G with five points, 12 behind group leader England.
