Bruce impressed by Cats duo
Muntari, who is back in English football after a season at Portsmouth, has started the last four games following his loan move from Inter Milan, while former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Sessegnon has played the last five. However, despite both men impressing during their first few weeks on Wearside, neither has yet ended up on the winning side, something Bruce is hoping they can help remedy during the weeks ahead. Bruce said: "We can all see they are very, very good players. They are disappointed because they have been on the losing team, but they are both fantastic players. "They are both technically very, very good. You don't play for clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan unless you are a very, very good player and we are delighted to have them here. "They can only get better. They are enjoying the challenges of the Premier League and the rigours of it and let's hope they keep improving." Benin international Sessegnon, 26, made his debut in the 4-2 home defeat to Chelsea on February 1, just three days after completing his £6million switch from PSG, while Ghana's Muntari, also 26, joined him in the team for the 3-2 loss at Stoke four days later. Defeats by Tottenham and Everton followed, but the Black Cats stopped the rot with a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Arsenal last time out and, refreshed after a two-week break, will look to return to winning ways when Liverpool head for the Stadium of Light on Sunday. Bruce is also expecting big things from Egypt winger Ahmed Elmohamady after deciding to take up the option of signing him on a permanent basis. The Black Cats confirmed over the weekend that they will exercise a clause in the season-long loan deal they negotiated with the 23-year-old winger's club, ENPPI, last summer to complete a full transfer at the end of the season. Egypt international Elmohamady has made 29 appearances for the club to date, and Bruce has seen enough to invest in his potential. He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted with the progress Ahmed has made this season, so naturally we are happy to activate the option on the loan deal. "Ahmed still has learning to do, but he has done well for us so far. He's a lovely lad with a great attitude and is an exemplary professional who is dedicated to improving his game. "Despite his young age, Ahmed is already vastly experienced at international level, and people forget he's had to adapt to a completely different lifestyle and style of play. "He's really starting to adjust to English life now and is popular in the dressing room. I think there's much more to come for him."
