Bruce backs Campbell for England call

Campbell moved to the Black Cats from Manchester United last summer, scoring seven goals in 31 appearances, and his form this summer has put him in pole position to start the new season as Darren Bent's regular partner. The 22-year-old has scored six goals so far and Bruce should take a look at Campbell with a view to promoting him to the senior squad for England's friendly against Hungary at Wembley on August 11. "Fraizer has been sensational for us pre-season. He's come back from the summer break and looks a million dollars," Bruce said. "As for England, why not? Why not go with up-and-coming young talent? "We knew when we bought him he was still a bit raw, but he's quick, strong and looks very good already. "The England manager should have a look at him."
