Broken foot fear again for Gibbs

Arsenal fears defender Kieran Gibbs has broken his left foot during a League Cup match at Tottenham

Gibbs, who will be assessed by medics on Wednesday, fractured a metatarsal in the same foot in November 2009 and didn't play again last season.

Manager Arsene Wenger says "it is a metatarsal again, it is the one next to the one he had broken, the second one."

Wenger says he hopes "we have good news tomorrow morning, because that would be a massive blow to us."

The 20-year-old Gibbs hobbled off in the 102nd minute of the match, which Arsenal won 4-1 in extra time at White Hart Lane.

Gibbs made his first England appearance in a friendly against Hungary in August.
