A 28-year-old football player has been shot dead in an apparent robbery attempt in Brazil.
Andre Nascimento, of Minas Gerais state club Uberaba, was shot while arriving home after practice on Friday.
The club said the striker was a victim of ''urban violence'' and ''possibly a robbery attempt,'' but authorities told local media they were investigating the possibility the murder was connected to a recent domestic dispute involving Nascimento.
No other details were available.

Nascimento was Uberaba's top scorer in this year's Minas Gerais state tournament and in the Minas Gerais Cup, in which the team was scheduled to play on Sunday.
