Brazilian coach Gallo moves to UAE's Al Ain

The struggling Al Ain football club in the United Arab Emirates is bringing in Brazilian coach Alexandre Gallo.

Team owners say they hope the veteran Gallo can keep Al Ain from relegation in the UAE's top league, which seeks to lure more international talent such as former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro, who joined Dubai's Al Ahli this year.

Gallo is scheduled to arrive in the UAE on Tuesday to replace fired coach Abdulhameed al Mishtiki.

Gallo leaves Brazilian club Nautico. He previously coached several teams around Brazil and was with FC Tokyo in 2006.

Al Ain is in ninth place in the 12-team league.
