A Chinese football club says it has fined Brazilian midfielder Renato Adriano Jaco Morais and given him a three-game suspension for being disrespectful to the team's coach and fans.

Guangzhou Hengda said Tuesday that Renato was punished because he did not shake hands with his coach or show his thanks to the fans after he was substituted in a 2-2 draw with Beijing Guo'an on Sunday.

It said euro14,000 ($20,000) would be deducted from Rentao's salary and he would be fined another euro32,000 ($46,000).

The team said Renato was also suspended for at least three matches.
