Brazil learns from Carnival ahead of 2014 WCup

Brazil's Carnival was not just about partying, drinking and samba dancing.

The country's huge Carnival celebrations this week also provided key lessons for World Cup organizers trying to prepare the nation for soccer's showcase event in two years.

With locals and tourists jamming many of the World Cup host cities, Carnival allowed authorities to evaluate the new infrastructure improvements, public safety programs and medical services.

Millions of tourists traveled the country for the festival, just like they will do during the World Cup in 2014.
