Bothroyd limps off in R's win

July 20, 2011

The new signing from Cardiff was taken off on the half-hour mark at Home Park after a seemingly innocuous challenge. Bothroyd was replaced by Heidar Helguson and the Icelandic forward went on to head home the winner in the 90th minute from Petter Vaagan Moen's corner. The match was a testimonial for Argyle's long-serving goalkeeper Romain Larrieu and the Frenchman made some decent saves to keep Rangers at bay. Fitz Hall was denied in the first half and Danny Shittu was foiled by a superb reaction save late on, while debutant Kieron Dyer curled a snap-shot just over for QPR. Plymouth also had their chances with Simon Walton, the impressive Andres Gurreiri and Stephane Zubar all going close.
