The talented Dutch midfielder, 29, has not played for 15 months after a recurrence of his troublesome knee injury last February but he returned to full training seven weeks ago and is now set to play a part for Swans in the Premier League next season. Bodde will return to south Wales after just a 10-day break to get a head start on his summer conditioning work, much earlier than the rest of his team-mates who are back in training on July 11. He told Swansea's official website: "I am very happy to sign a new contract. While the club has had a lot of success on the pitch, it has been a very difficult time for me because of my knee problems. "But everyone at Swansea has supported me and the club has backed me during my injury by offering me a new deal. I am very grateful for that and now I want to help the club on the pitch. "I can't wait for next season because the Premier League is the best in the world."
