Taylor has been sidelined since early January after the Northern Ireland international tore a knee ligament in the FA Cup third round win at Millwall. He is closing on a return to fitness and Blues boss Alex McLeish is optimistic Taylor will be able to provide the back-up to Ben Foster against Arsenal. McLeish said: "It is looking good for Maik in terms of the final. "He's done training this week and he's on course to give Ben the cover." The 39-year-old has made four appearances in cup competitions for Birmingham this season and is eager to return to fitness. Taylor said: "It's important for me to be back, not just because of the final but because I want a strong end to the season."
