Blackpool v Hudd'field reaction

Ian Holloway was full of praise for Huddersfield after his Blackpool side suffered a shock 3-1 defeat in the Championship on Monday night.

Simon Grayson's visitors moved up to second in the table after upsetting the odds against one of the division's promotion favourites at Bloomfield Road.

Lee Novak opened the scoring and although Gary Taylor-Fletcher equalised, on-loan striker James Vaughan regained the lead before then claiming a touch on Oliver Norwood's free-kick.

And Holloway, whose team could have gone top of the table with a win, told Sky Sports: "Huddersfield are a good team. They knew quite a bit about what we do, particularly from set-pieces.

"Their two centre forwards were an absolute handful. We didn't look like we could cope with that and they have gone and won.

"Were my team as good as we normally are? Did we get affected by things, or did they stop us?

"I thought they stopped us. I thought they showed great desire and well done to them."

Grayson was delighted to see his players tear up the script to win.

"To come here and get the result we have and play in the manner we have is obviously very delightful for everybody," he said.

"We said to the players before the game we're on for a real tough test against a strong Blackpool team.

"And we've had to be disciplined, play from the shape, and do everything that we've worked on in the last couple of days. And obviously that plan worked.

"They've got a unity together. There's some good footballers in there and they've got a desire to succeed and a togetherness that they want to win football matches.

"Nobody gave them a chance coming here as it was all about Blackpool going top or whatever but I'm very proud of what the players have done."
