Shay Given saved a James McFadden penalty as Birmingham were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw against Manchester City at St Andrew's on Sunday.
The visitors were indebted to their keeper, not only for his spot-kick heroics but also a string of other superb saves to deny McFadden, Lee Bowyer and Christian Benitez as Mark Hughes' big spenders struggled to find their best form.
