Blackburn striker Leon Best played 67 minutes in a 2-1 reserve win over Sunderland on Monday night - his first action since suffering a serious knee injury in pre-season.

Republic of Ireland international Best, who is yet to make his competitive Rovers debut since joining for ?3million from Newcastle last summer, damaged his cruciate knee ligaments in a friendly against AEK Athens.

Midfielder Dickson Etuhu and full-back Adam Henley made their own returns from respective knee and hamstring problems as January signing Anton Forrester bagged both Blackburn goals.
