Besiktas on revenge mission
The Turkish side met their Ukrainian opponents in the last 32 of last season's competition, and found themselves comprehensively beaten as they suffered an 8-1 aggregate defeat. However, they currently sit above Dynamo in the standings after beating Maccabi Tel Aviv but suffering a defeat against Stoke in their last game. Dynamo, meanwhile, have drawn their two games to date, but their domestic form has been good. Yuri Semin's side currently sit second in the table, only behind leaders Shakhtar Donetsk on goal difference, and they picked up a 2-1 victory over Volyn Lutsk at the weekend thanks to goals from former Chelsea forward Andriy Shevchenko and Artem Milevskiy. But former player and coach Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko says they now need to translate their league form into Europe if they are not to make an early exit from the competition. The 48-year-old also says it is vital Dynamo win their home clash with Besiktas, as the return meeting in Turkey will be a tougher challenge altogether. He told UEFA's website: "These two matches will probably be crucial because Besiktas are one of the favourites in the group and we all know how difficult it is to play in Turkey. "Playing Besiktas away is not the same as facing them at home - it's completely different. What is certain is that they will compete. The group is quite even and everybody needs to pick up points, so I think the second game will probably have a bit more passion and more of a competitive edge." If Besiktas are to gain revenge for last season's humiliation they are likely to have to do so without a handful of first-choice players. Interim coach Carlos Carvalhal is set to be without goalkeeper Rustu Recber while defender Ibrahim Toraman has undergone surgery on a broken nose and midfielder Manuel Fernandes has an abdominal problem.
