Darren Bent admits he is struggling to find his rhythm under Paul Lambert's rotation policy but is confident goals will come when the team gel.

Bent, Villa's record signing, has scored two goals in the Premier League and netted against Tranmere in the Capital One Cup, but found chances hard to come by in last weekend's 1-0 loss at Fulham.

The striker told the Birmingham Mail: "When you start playing a rotation system it is difficult to find a rhythm as such, especially when you're a frontman.

"But I accept it's the manager's decision. We live by that and you just have to keep working hard in training and showing him you want to play."

When asked if he was happy being left out of the side, Bent replied: "Not really. Any player who values themselves wants to play week in, week out.

"It's all about getting in the right positions at the right time. Once we get a good team blend and we start to create chances then I'll start finishing them."
