Benjani targets debut against City
The 32-year-old striker was released by City back in June after two seasons at the club, as the Premier League big-spenders deemed him surplus to requirements. Now the Zimbabwe international is looking forward to the latest chapter of his career at Blackburn, and hopes to return to full fitness to make his first appearance for Rovers at Eastlands on September 11. "It's always nice to play against your old team and I wish I can be fit enough to play, it will be interesting for me," he said. Benjani also remarked that he is pleased to join Blackburn, and hit out at the lack of trust at City. "I would prefer to be here, without having all those facilities, and be happy trusting everyone around you," he added. "Yeah it seems like that and behind the scenes there is no trust. I would prefer to play for a club where you are being trusted and you trust everyone around you."
