Bendtner hails fighting spirit
The Black Cats sit in 16th spot with just six points from the opening seven games this season to keep the pressure on Steve Bruce. However, Bendtner feels the fighting spirit they showed in coming from two goals down on Saturday to draw 2-2 with West Brom will stand them in good stead for the rest of the campaign "The fighting spirit has always been there, we've always known that," said Bendtner. "We need to keep trying to play forward. "We have a good team here and we should start climbing the table in the games to come." Bendtner was delighted to score his first goal for the club against West Brom since arriving on loan from Arsenal. "I maybe got a bit of luck with my goal but the build-up to it was amazing," added Bendtner. "I think it might have been on target without the deflection but I guess we will never know. Either way, I am happy to have scored my first goal for Sunderland."
