Bellamy keen on Cardiff stay
The striker, on a season-long loan at the Championship side from Manchester City, has helped the Bluebirds into the play-offs this season. And the 31-year-old Welshman, who still has two years to run on his City contract, insists he wants to remain with his hometown club next year, regardless of whether they secure a spot in the top-flight. "If it is a missed opportunity this year, I will definitely be here next year," said Bellamy. "Definitely. Because I'm committed. "I want this club to get into the Premier League. Whether it finishes my career doing so, I'll make sure that happens. "I've made too many promises to myself, to my kids, to my friends and people around me that if I don't do it then it will be a massive disappointment for me. "But I'll be here next year trying to do the same." Cardiff narrowly missed out on the second automatic promotion spot to Norwich earlier this week after suffering an untimely defeat to Middlesbrough. They now travel to Burnley on Saturday with their spot in the play-offs already guaranteed for a second successive year. Bellamy, who has scored 10 goals in 32 appearances for the Bluebirds, believes it is crucial the club continue to develop. "Let's keep pushing the club forward," he added. "In 10 years' time we want to look back on this period now and say 'look where we were then, and look where we are now'. "We can't just say this is good enough. We want to keep growing as a club and every year we want to keep getting better and better."
