Been's men slipped into the relegation play-off places following Sunday's 2-0 defeat at FC Groningen and appear set for a long winter. The Feyenoord directors seem willing to stick with Been despite the club's woeful form, which included a 10-0 thrashing at PSV Eindhoven recently, even though he knows their current standing is unacceptable. He told the club's official website: "The position is unworthy of Feyenoord but this is the reality. "We have to play relegation football. Most of the guys in the team who played for the A team last year were winning matches but now they are finding themselves in a different situation. "We miss leaders in the team and the injuries we have have contributed to the situation we are in. "But I am sure that when those experienced players return we can again see Feyenoord on the rise. "This squad has too much quality to be at the bottom of the table. Therefore I am sure we will stay up, Feyenoord could never be relegated." Feyenoord skipper Ron Vlaar conceded the players needed to toughen up after another dismal away day at Euroborg. "The pressure will now come," Vlaar told NUsport. "We'll really have to win matches. "At times we played some good football but it happens too often that our heads go down when things go against us. "If we fall behind it should not mean the game is over."
