Bayern Munich's president says his club would be prepared to part with unsettled Italy striker Luca Toni for free.

Toni's contract runs through June 2011 but he has been at odds with coach Louis Van Gaal.

Club president Uli Hoeness told DSF television on Sunday that even though they have received no offer yet "we are prepared to loan or sell him without a transfer fee."

Hoeness says "we want to have peace" as "the theme of Luca Toni" will continue to occupy the media as long as he is at the club.

The 32-year-old Toni joined Bayern in 2007.
