Stuart Bannigan has signed a new contract with Irn-Bru First Division-winning side Partick Thistle.

The Scotland Under-21 international has agreed a two-year deal with the Firhill outfit as manager Alan Archibald prepares his side for life in the Scottish Premier League.

The 20-year-old midfielder follows team-mates Aaron Muirhead, Stephen O'Donnell, Kris Doolan, Ross Forbes and James Craigen, who have also signed extended contracts.

Thistle have also signed former Scotland goalkeeper Paul Gallacher from Ross County and Dundee striker John Baird.
