Banned Vuvuzelas out of Toon
Tottenham, Arsenal, Birmingham, Everton, Fulham, West Ham and West Brom have already barred the South African horns, which were a feature of this summer's World Cup. A statement on the Magpies' website said: "The club's position, aside from them being an item not permitted according to ground regulations, is that the vast majority of fans do not wish them to be heard within the ground." Meanwhile, former PSV Eindhoven captain Stan Valckx will present Newcastle manager Chris Hughton with a PSV shirt to mark the one-year anniversary of Bobby Robson's death before the friendly match between the sides on Saturday. Valckx was captain of PSV in the early 1990s during their successful spell under Robson, who subsequently managed Newcastle late in his career. The presentation prior to kick-off at St James' Park will be of a shirt from the 1990/91 season, the year PSV won the first of successive Eredivisie titles. Valckx said: "It is great that Newcastle United are playing this match against PSV Eindhoven given that he managed both clubs and gave them great times too. "There was no one more passionate about the game than Bobby. To have him as my manager was inspirational but to have him as a friend for so many years was a privilege." The shirt will be housed in the Sir Bobby Robson cabinet, situated on Level Two of the Milburn Stand at St James' Park.
