Bale refuses to return to training
Gareth Bale does not intend to return to Tottenham's training ground having already said goodbye to his team-mates, according to Sky sources.
Bale is reportedly furious with Spurs over their handling of his planned world-record move to Real Madrid, after the transfer failed to be completed over the weekend.
According to Sky Sports presenter Jim White, Bale was told last week that he could "say his goodbyes" to the rest of the Spurs squad and did that before flying to Spain for a short break.
Bale expected to return to London on Tuesday to find the deal to take him to Real Madrid had been completed.
However, with Spurs angered by Real's decision to erect a stage that was reportedly built to be used to unveil Bale, the deal failed to materialize as anticipated.
White said: "Bale wants it to be known that he will continue to have a huge affection for Tottenham and in particular for their fans, but he hopes they understand the position he finds himself in."
He will keep a low profile today in the hope he gets the call he has been waiting for - that he is free to join Real Madrid.
