Aubameyang and Arsenal lead AP Global Football 10
LONDON (AP) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leads the Associated Press Global Football 10 on Tuesday after scoring two hat tricks in two games for Borussia Dortmund.
Aubameyang achieved the feat in wins against Augsburg in the German Bundesliga and Qabala in the Europa League.
''The deadliest forward in Europe is at the moment undoubtedly Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund,'' Soren-Mikael Hansen of Politiken in Denmark said. ''Two hat tricks within three days brings him to the top of the players list this week ahead of Harry Kane, Luis Suarez and Kevin Gameiro.''
Luis Suarez is runner up after scoring all three in Barcelona's 3-1 comeback win against Eibar. Harry Kane is third, having also scored a hat trick for Tottenham in a 5-1 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.
Kevin Gameiro also scored three in a game, propelling Sevilla to a 5-0 victory against Getafe in the Spanish league. He polls fourth, a place above Mesut Ozil, who impressed in Arsenal's two wins in the week against Bayern Munich and Everton.
Olivier Giroud, Paulo Dybala, Jamie Vardy, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo round out the top 10 players of the week.
Arsenal leads the team vote after inflicting a first defeat of the season on Bayern Munich in the Champions League and following it up with a win against Everton in the Premier League.
''Any team that can beat Bayern Munich in the German club's current form deserves recognition,'' Marco Monteverde of News Corp. Australia said. ''Arsenal then backed up that Champions League win with victory over an extremely competitive Everton outfit.''
Barcelona is second, after also beating BATE Borisov in the Champions League as well as Eibar, and Dortmund third.
Real Madrid is fourth, for beating Celta Vigo 3-1 after a goalless draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
After defeat to Arsenal in the week, Bayern Munich beat Cologne 4-0 in the German Bundesliga and takes fifth spot in the team poll.
Roma, PSG, Sporting Lisbon, Atletico Madrid and West Ham complete the top 10 teams.
